Valerie Harper joins 'Mary Tyler Moore Show' reunion on 'Hot in Cleveland'

Seems just like old times. The cast of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" will reunite on the small screen, and they've got none other than Valerie Harper making it to the party -- a sure-to-be-poignant, funny and treasured moment in the wake of her revelation that she has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

Per Deadline, the sitcom confab is set to happen in an upcoming episode of "Hot in Cleveland," where series star Betty White will be joined her old "MTMS" pals Mary Tyler Moore, Cloris Leachman, Georgia Engel (who's already got a regular guest stint on the show), along with Harper.

This will mark Moore's second appearance on the show and, reportedly, the gals' first reunion since "MTMS" bid adieu in 1977.

In the episode, which is supposedly set to shoot on April 5, White's old cohorts will play her former teammates on a squad called GLOB -- aka The Gorgeous Ladies of Bowling -- who reunite years after a falling-out over inflated egos. (Is everyone feeling an awesome strike, here?)

1. Nice, very nice...

I recently saw a promo for The Golden Girls (I think there was some TVLAND marathon for the show), but it had all the Hot In Cleveland regulars sitting on a couch with Betty White (of course) right in the middle watching TGG on the tv and exclaiming about how much she loves that show. Cute, but also touching, given that Betty White is the only remaining living cast mate of that show.

The reunion of MTM cast will be very poignant, as was the return of Bonnie Franklin for an episode, just before her death.

3. I've never seen "Hot in Cleveland" but I'll start recording it now.

Just to get familiar with the show if nothing else.

It will be great to see the old MTM cast again.
And I can't say enough how much I admire Valerie's
courage and upbeat attitude. I liked her a lot before,
but now I admire her tremendously. She's got spunk.

7. At some point in that 'spunk'

episode Mr. Grant offers Mary a drink (as he reaches into his desk for a bottle of scotch). Mary declines, Lou talks her into it. Mary says, "Ok, I'll have a Brandy Alexander".
