Zimmerman passed lie detector test

Just another piece of evidence in a story being used in the CCW/SYG/Second Amendment debate:

Zimmerman, the report noted, “was classified as No Deception Indicated (NDI).”

Along with questions about whether his first name was George and if it was Monday, Zimmerman was asked, “Did you confront the guy you shot?’ He answered, “No.” He was also asked, “Were you in fear for your life, when you shot the guy.” Zimmerman replied, “Yes.”

Before the CVSA test, Zimmerman--who was apparently not accompanied by legal counsel--signed a Sanford Police Department release stating that he was undergoing the examination “voluntarily, without duress, coercion, threat or promise.”

The lie detector test was requested by Chris Serino, a homicide investigator with the Sanford Police Department.

1. All that means is that he believes his own story

If you repeat a lie enough times, you start to believe it yourself.

4. Or is a very good liar... as evidenced by his jailhouse plot to hide money and passport

To his detriment, he is also apparently very stupid and arrogant.

5. The way i understand it, passing a lie detector test isn't proof of innocence...

but failing it could hurt one's case.

8. VSA = Voice Stress Analysis

Lots of debate about it's reliability…

9. Zimmerman is delusional

He has told a different story more times than I can count. I watched the walk through tape and most of it did not match the 911 phone calls. His story does not match his injuries. The detective was right, his physical injuries did not reflect someone sitting on you punching you for nearly a minute. He would have had fist marks on his neck, chest, shoulders. Trayvon's knuckles would have been badly bruised. He's lying. Period.

12. Lie detector tests are not admissible as evidence because they are not reliable.

Meaningless really.

14. Well ...

Not meaningless ... After all, this throws a popular opinion lifeline to the zim defenders.

13. Proves nothing

"Lie Detector" my shiny metal ass!

Polygraphy is a "science" somewhere between dowsing and astrology.
There is no test (with the possible exception of fMRI) that can conclusively tell you the veracity of anyone's statement.

It can be used as a tool to decide whether or not to continue or initiate an investigation, but that's about it.

Throw the red herring back in the water and continue the investigation.

15. This isn't a lie detector test it computer voice stress analyzer (CVSA)

its meaningless in a court of law. It doesn't allow an operator user to discriminate accurately between truthful and deceptive people. Like anything its a tool and it can be manipulated.

16. I have taken a polygraph test three times.

Each time it was a requirement for a job as a security guard. I passed twice and flunked once. I was being honest all three times. A lot depends upon the guy giving the test, and how nervous the subject is.

It wasn't difficult.
